Earlier this week, a friend of mine posted a link to the “James Webb Space Telescope.”  This telescope has been years in the making and will eventually become the successor of the Hubble.  We should be able to see distant galaxies, the formation of what we know to be the universe, and even planets orbiting other stars in 2018!  And that could be only the beginning. As the Hubble was made decades ago, yet they’ve still been able to push it further and further… we can expect a huge improvement as to how far we can see into our very mysterious universe…as this picture shows.  One scientist went so far as to call it the “golden age of astronomy.”

As you can see, the difference in size is relevant but what I find much more intriguing is the shape.  The astrophysicists seemed to opt for 18 mirrors instead…
